At Cobblestone Corner, we see early childhood as a time of incredible potential. Children are naturally curious, capable, and full of ideas. We believe they learn best through hands-on exploration, meaningful play, and connection with others.

Our environment is intentionally designed to invite wonder, and discovery so children make sense of their world, form theories, and build knowledge in ways that are authentic to them.

What does learning look like at CCA?
​At Cobblestone Corner Academy, our curriculum blends the wonder of child-led discovery with the intention of thoughtful structure. Influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach, we honor each child’s voice and creativity—while also providing a consistent rhythm to the day and clearly defined learning goals.
Through purposeful play, guided exploration, and meaningful routines, we support growth across all domains: cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and early literacy and math.

Children lead the way with their curiosity, turning everyday moments into big learning adventures. When we see children this way, we create environments that support their growth and honor their unique ideas. When they wonder, create, and play—they’re learning all the time. ​​​

What role do the teachers in the classroom play?
As the teacher, we are the guides, observers, and collaborators. We listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and set up just-right challenges to keep those little minds growing. Young children often understand more than they can express. That’s why we pay close attention to the little moments—during play or a conversation —where learning naturally unfolds. By noticing these moments, we can ask meaningful questions and gently guide children to think deeper and grow with confidence.
Our History
Cobblestone Corner began as a small, heartfelt dream—a dream rooted in a deep passion for early childhood education and a desire to create a nurturing space for her own, and other, children where they could feel truly seen and supported.

Founded 14 years ago by Michelle Sousa (Miss Mimi), an experienced educator, now mother of three, Cobblestone Corner opened its doors as a Family Childcare program with just a few families and a vision. What began as a cozy, small in-home program, quickly grew through word of mouth, fueled by the community’s trust, shared values, and love for learning.​

Now Cobblestone Corner is evolving—expanding classrooms, welcoming new educators, and refining its approach—all while staying true to its founding belief: that children are capable, curious, and full of potential.
Cobblestone Corner Academy will continue to be a place where learning is joyful, relationships are strong, and every child is given the space to grow at their own pace. From the cobblestone path that inspired our name, to the thoughtful environments we create each day, our story is one of growth, gratitude, and a steadfast commitment to honoring childhood.
